| 3 Flights in one day was not the best way to start.. my ears don't enjoy landing once a day! But we and our luggage (presents and quilts that were slaved over) got there in one piece... and met the reles! We stayed at Bruce's place out in the country.. on an airbed in the lounge with Ns mum, Sister, B-I-L, niece and nephews.. talk about full house! Nieces quilt was a hit (Phew). On our first full day, we went shopping, to Queens park (cool bird park), and N showed me where he grew up and went to school etc Sunday was Nanas 90th and I met the rest of the family. Nana was a little overwhelmed, but happy. A day trip to Riverton was awesome, fish and chips on the beach with the kids and then dolphins just metres away as we were leaving. On Tuesday we did a day trip to Milford, which was rainy, full of waterfalls and keas. Tick! Spent a day with a virus and then headed to Martinborough to finish recuperating with Becks and Matt Te Awamutu on Friday (Hi Dad, Barbara and Wujin!) and then Auckland for the weekend. Spent the the afternoon playing board games and eating pizza with Steve and Marina then distributed Jelly Bellys to Ns Brother, S-I-L and nephews! Caught up with Gav and Amanda on Sunday and then got shocked by what was still in our storage locker! Got my eyelids diagnosed on Monday (thanks Nick!), caught up with Julie and then headed back to TA. N and his dad sorted out the storage locker, while I relaxed and hung out with Wujin We had a nice dinner out with my folks, caught up with Dorothy and Stephen and spent a day with Chris, Clint and Lucy in Rotorua. Back up to Auckland on the 21st for a dinner out with Paula, Darryl and Peter, which ended before dessert and in the A&E! Peter was fine in the end... but had us scared for a while! Tuesday I spent a day catching up with... Vashti, Cherry, Vera, Tania, Jeff, Micheal, Jennifier and Kylie! Phew... in the nicest way 23rd we visited the Olives and Lynne & her family... long but nice day. Christmas Eve we saw Nick and Georgina and attended the Prins family dinner. Christmas day was spent watching the nephews dismantle their pile of presents and boxing day was very relaxed. Saw Sarah for brunch.. yum! Flew home on the 27th... through the extra security checks etc... and back to work the next day.

| This time last year we'd just moved to CA after an expensive 8 months in NY. It had been a bad year all round... but luckily 2009 was kinder to us. Ns job has been going well, I got a job in a small company 15 mins away and our apartment has been (mostly) good. We've had a few visitors and a few trips Now we're back 'home' for 3 weeks.. gorging on weetbix and pineapple lumps

| Its been a pretty hectic year... I've just about been married a year... and the time has just flown! Got home from wedding to pack up life in Auckland and move to New York with my job. After N joined me in NY (2 months after I got there), we watched our savings plumit while he navigated the job market (bad bad timing on our part!) Got a random email from a recruiter for a job for N in California (near my reles) and decided we had nothing to lose. He got the job and so here we are! Now I'm working from home to cover my old job until they replace me. Lets hope next year is quieter on the moving front! | | |
| Its been a crazy year! Facebook has been easier to maintain.. 1 sentence and some superpokes rather than a thought out paragraph or two.
I guess I have got out of practice.

| After dreading the big 30, its turned out to be a pretty great year.. Highlights: Attending Chris's wedding , Tongariro Crossing (with a night at the Chateau), getting a very good job, which will move us to NY in March, holiday in Singapore and Malaysia (incl the getting engaged part), non hen party, Wedding in SF, seeing most of my relatives again, reception party at in-laws... Lowlights: Cat getting hit by car, cat getting lost for 2 weeks... To Do list before March? Unbelievable! (which is why I'm procrastinating on the internet) | | |
